Looking Back at Aviutl in 2024

Long time no see, this is Adyaka.
My desire to write a Note is growing rapidly, so please let me vent it out here.

As the title suggests, this article is just a casual, highly arbitrary look back at the changes in Aviutl in 2024.

I don't want to bother with any more preamble, so let's get straight to the point.

2024 was a turbulent year for Aviutl

I feel like people say this every year, and 2024 is no exception.
However, I personally think this year was a bit different.

◯ patch.aul is amazing

Is it even possible that someone reading an Aviutl article on Note hasn't installed it?
Plugins and scripts are generally 'added on,' but since this patch is mainly for 'fixing' existing things, it is clearly essential to install.

I have been very grateful for patch.aul again this year.

◯ The Ultimate Plugin is amazing

The barrier to entry for installation has become quite low.
I first installed it around late May, and I remember there were quite a few troubles with Python-related things during installation back then. (It was tough because you had to run things from the control panel and so on.)

But look at this.

Now, it only takes four steps to install. Plus, updates have become a breeze thanks to a dedicated application called 'install.exe'.

The developer even made a video showing the installation steps directly.
Why don't those who have been hesitant to install it until now give it a try?

And the richness of its features is also amazing.
It is still being updated daily. If I were to introduce them one by one, the length of the text would become overwhelming, so I will omit them, but I might write about them in detail if I feel like it.

Recently, the developer has even been conducting surveys on features people want implemented, so this is a plugin from which we can expect even more wonderful evolution in the future.

By the way, what I personally thought was groundbreaking is the feature that allows you to switch layouts using tabs for 'workspace' creation.

◯ sigma_axis is amazing

I'm naming names right away, but all the plugins and scripts that sigma_axis released in 2024 have wonderful versatility.

Regarding plugins, I believe the quality is such that it is no exaggeration to say that installing all of them is a must.Installing them early and getting used to them will significantly increase your editing efficiency. (This applies to most plugins, though.)

As for scripts, something incredible was released in December.

It is "Inline Scene S".You can see it if you watch the video, but to put it simply, it allows you to "complete tasks that previously required multiple scenes within a single scene."

When combined with the three additionally implemented scripts, it demonstrates even more amazing performance. I am especially happy about the mask function, as it is something I have wanted for a long time.

◯ CurveEditor is amazing

CurveEditor, which was released in 2022 and caused quite a revolution in Aviutl's easing, is currently in development for v2.0.

An Alpha version has been released on GitHub, and the content is quite impressive.

Something has been added to the side. It's presets. A very easy-to-understand and user-friendly feature has been added. You can also organize the easing you've created into your own folders.
It feels like this alone will be enough for everything related to easing.

Let's wait with bated breath for the official release.

◯ A Discord server has been created

A new Discord server has been created by volunteer users.
It is a place where you can share various information about Aviutl, and I also occasionally lend and receive help there.

With threads summarizing detailed explanations of ultimate plugins and update information for other plugins and scripts,it is fun to encounter various new information, so I think it is well worth joining even if you only intend to watch.

In conclusion

I believe 2024 was a very significant year for Aviutl users due to the emergence of many highly versatile scripts and plugins.
As a user, I can only pray for further development in 2025.

I created a pseudonym but didn't really do anything with it, so I want to be a bit more active in the future.
