Brainstorming for the Solo Exhibition (Being Carried Away by an Osprey)

I have started to create the story for my solo exhibition, little by little. That said, it is the viewers who create the story; I am merely cutting out parts of the story to turn into paintings (the order is reversed, but it is more like having you imagine the story from the paintings).

I drew this today.

Regarding this, I have come up with several scenes. It is tricky because I have decided on one scene per story. I plan to draw a few, look at the overall balance, and then decide on the works to exhibit.

This bird was originally an eagle. Its first-person pronoun was also 'washi' (eagle). An elderly eagle, an art collector.

However, as I researched various things, I wanted to make it an osprey. I cannot draw like a field guide, but I drew it with all my might. It seems the osprey is also a winter seasonal word, and since the exhibition period is from 10/14 to 11/12, and the works will be delivered about a month after the exhibition ends, I thought winter was a good fit.
Besides, I like ospreys. I felt a sense of kinship with the fact that ospreys love fish. It is cool when they dive for fish or fly proudly after catching one, but I also find it cute and like it when they fail at fishing. I also like how they carry fish facing the direction of travel. Aside from fish, I also like it when they carry things like branches.

…While thinking that, from the fish's perspective, it is being eaten by the osprey… so I have a somewhat complicated feeling. Since I am a Pisces, I have a tendency to think of myself as a fish. I plan to draw various creatures for the solo exhibition, but I decided to firmly determine the perspective from which I will draw them.

Also, I am still debating whether to draw pictures for all seasons while being somewhat conscious of the seasons, or to narrow it down to something for autumn and winter this time. Anyway, I will try drawing lots of rough sketches.

The continuation of the previous one is about flying in the sky with the osprey, and then at the osprey's home… that kind of feeling.

I am happy that this painting can be related to one of the origins of the name 'Shirokuro Eeyon' (The old man at the frontier losing his horse; fortune is like a twisted rope).

The fish in the back right also appears in the Ginza work.

The solo exhibition is planned to have a three-part structure:
・The adventures of this ship itself
・Small happiness lurking in daily life
・A ship watching over the growth of animals

That is the plan, but it might change once I draw a lot of rough sketches.

I am considering the content in a way that maintains affinity with the simultaneously held special exhibition. If the special exhibition is 'Hare' (celebratory/extraordinary), then the solo exhibition is 'Ke' (everyday/ordinary); I hope you can enjoy the contrast, such as the special exhibition being three-dimensional and the solo exhibition being two-dimensional… Oh, but I have also started to think I want to draw 'Hare' pictures too. I have come up with a few… like birthdays or ship launching ceremonies…
Should I change 'Small happiness lurking in daily life' to something that also includes the extraordinary, or should I include both 'Hare' and 'Ke' scenes in the 'A ship watching over the growth of animals' part…?

Instead of saying goodnight, I will leave yesterday's work here.

I suddenly thought that perhaps they had various adventures in the dream they saw after this 'Goodnight'.
