I tried scratching oil pastels for the first time in a while. And then, the new method of the sparkle ritual!

It is currently 11:51 PM on July 2nd (at the time I started writing this).

The last one of the bold canvases I painted black first, the F0 size, is now finished.

I have been curious about oil pastel scratching for a long time, but I couldn't quite get around to it, so I am happy I finally did. I also did it for the Shukusui Exhibition and the production of this M15 piece, but for this final painting, I was able to do it in a way that felt different from before. I am happy. I will make use of this in the future.

And then, I tried a new method for the sparkle ritual. I have seen a method where you sprinkle baby powder to settle the surface of oil pastels. This is an application of that. I thought if baby powder sticks, then with a little effort, something the size of the natural stone powder I usually use might stick too, so I experimented.

Since it didn't fall off even when I tapped it from the back, I think it has likely set. However, the surface is very fragile, and it seems like it could dent with a little bit of force. Since I didn't harden the oil pastel...

And then!!!!

It became very sparkly!!!

I was very happy about this.

It's a way to get rid of the stickiness on the surface while also making it sparkle...

I worried a lot about the name, and decided on "Nagarebo-san." I thought about changing the "shi" in "nagareboshi" (shooting star) to "shi" (Mr./Ms.), but "san" felt more natural, so I left "Nagarebo" as is and added "san."

I wanted to try drawing a portrait for the first time in a while, so I drew this as one of the expressions of the shooting stars appearing in the night sky this time. I had made a lot of five-pointed stars, so I wanted to draw a different shape, and made it look like a flower (some people also said it looked like one). I made the pattern on the clothes a subtle meteor shower pattern.

Nagarebo-san listens to any wish you have. They just listen. They don't grant them. However, by talking to Nagarebo-san, your wish might come true. I drew this hoping that such a mysterious thing might happen.

Also, depending on how you look at it, it started to look like a fragment of the universe about to fall onto some star. Either way, it is Nagarebo-san. The portrait after such a long time was very fun.

All that's left is the lacquer pieces.

Thank you.

After that, I finally posted it on Instagram. There is a video of it being very sparkly.

The lacquer pieces will be soon too!

And now, I will focus on the production of the Tanabota tree.

After that, I posted it on YouTube.

And on Instagram Reels too.
