Running away is not a shame. It is the courage to live.
I feel like there was a drama with a title like this (lol).
Was it Gen Hoshino and Gakky?
Actually, today, various things piled up and I thought,
I've had enough (I want to run away). (It's not that I want to die or anything.)
It suddenly occurred to me: why do I feel that "running away" is a bad thing?
That is the question.
"If I just endure it..." "If I just try harder..." "If I don't run away..."
"If I just keep bearing it like this, someday..." "It can't be helped until I get used to it..."
I have always told myself such things and tried hard to endure.
Will it ever pay off someday...?
Will I really feel better...?
Because I think like this, I get stressed; won't I get sick...?
Is this life okay...? Won't I regret it in the end...?
It was a day where I thought about many things.
For example, human relationships at work.
I couldn't be myself, I endured until I reached my limit,
and even then, I kept thinking, "Maybe I'm the bad one, it's my fault,"
and before I knew it, it became painful even to smile.
That was when I read this book.
If I had the "courage to run away, the courage to be disliked,"
my heart might not have broken.
I regret that I should have run away.
Running away is not losing.
It is
an important choice to protect yourself—the choice to "not wear yourself out any further."
Rather than pushing yourself until you burn out,
you should just distance yourself for a moment, take a deep breath, and start walking again.
Beyond where you ran to, there is a new landscape. There are new encounters.
There is no need at all to blame the "you who ran away."
If there is anyone currently in a painful situation,
I truly hope you will tell yourself,
"It's okay to run away, it's okay to be disliked."
People who have the courage to run away are actually the strongest.
Everyone, please don't try too hard.
Why don't you try running away from various things?
I would be happy if you could empathize with this.
