[Dessert] A Change in Perspective: How to Find a Worldview.

Did you enjoy the main story?

Well, for those of you who now crave dessert, or for those who just want to eat dessert, I would like to write down my thoughts on the matter.

This time, I wrote it under the title [#WhenSpringComes], which was the prompt from Tora-chan (Torakichi-san).

I think it's a bit longer than the short story 'Narawashi' I wrote previously, so I decided to call it a short-short story.
I apologize if I'm mistaken.

At first, when I thought about writing for this prompt, I considered picking up common spring topics, like 'it's pleasant because it's getting warmer' or 'hay fever is tough,' and writing a poem about that.

But somehow, the vague feeling that someone else would probably write something similar even if I didn't wouldn't go away, and while writing the poem, I couldn't shake the feeling that 'this isn't quite it'.

So, I thought about changing my perspective and looked for something that no one else would likely write about.

Spring brings things like hay fever, cherry blossoms blooming, and longer days.
These surely happen as part of the laws of nature, but I wrote this from the perspective of 'how are they decided, or how is it determined?'.

I started writing by imagining what it would be like if they all gathered to decide.
For the sake of the story, I am participating as the human representative and moderator.
And the characters that appear are composed based on my own arbitrary images (lol).

With that, this story was completed.

Well, perhaps if you searched the world, there are many people who have thought of and written about similar things, but I still feel I was able to bring a bit of originality to it on Note.

By the way, I also wrote about this change in perspective in an article that is currently in my drafts (which I plan to release in the future), and you can do it by looking at things from the perspective of a 'me' that isn't the real me.

This is also something I gained from the songs of RADWIMPS, whom I respect.

It is a worldview where specific objects or events have a will or meaning, almost like personification.

I had been itching to write something or create a work in my own way with such a worldview, and I feel like I have finally realized something I am satisfied with.
Perhaps because of that, it was incredibly fun to write, and I feel a tremendous sense of fulfillment.
I am always satisfied when I write, but being able to fulfill my goal for this year of writing a novel was another great point.

I am very grateful to Tora-chan for the prompt that led me to write this work.
Participating in projects once in a while is a good stimulus, isn't it?

If there are any projects on Tora-chan's Note that interest you, you might find new encounters or discoveries if you participate as well.

Thank you for reading this far.
