Exhibition Review: Postcard-sized Artworks by 10 Artists, Gallery Face to Face
I went to the postcard-sized exhibition by 10 artists at Gallery Face to Face.
Due to the intense heat, they decided to forgo the usual hallway display this time and gathered the works in the back room.

The exhibition was organized by section, with each artist's work displayed together, which kept things relatively compact and tidy.
However, rather than feeling small or contained, it felt as though each individual's personality was condensed and expressed.
In itomaki's work, the behavior of the little elephant had a narrative quality, much like a picture-story show.
The final board game illustration acted like a book cover that gathers the fragments of the story, which was interesting as it seemed to objectify the five pictures all over again.

He also has handmade pin badges on display.
Kumiko Managaki, who works with eraser stamps, also evokes a sense of storytelling.

The images, which seem to speak to the viewer, have the unique quality of eraser prints and almost resemble woodblock prints of medieval religious tales.
I felt a narrative unfolding beyond the figures themselves.
