Reading Surgery (Ballet Short Short)
Ai is playing the role of a doll named Coppelia. She wanted to dance center stage as Swanhilda rather than in the reading scene, but the choreographer did not choose her. Swanhilda is a winner of an international ballet competition... Ai, dressed as a doll, dug her nails into an old English-Japanese dictionary.
Then, the choreographer's roar flew at her.
You doll over there! Stop projecting murderous intent. Dolls don't have a will of their own. Even the reading is just an imitation, so to give off such a scary vibe is quite something.
Ai felt like crying but held it back, stood up, bowed to the choreographer, and apologized, saying, "I'll try again."
The moment she sat back down, she made eye contact with the dancer playing Swanhilda. Ai apologized to her in her heart as well, saying, "I'm sorry." The reply, "It's okay," came back in her heart. At the same time, the voice, "That's good, do your best," also flew from the choreographer.
Ai did not find this strange. She thought that among artists, such things happen. From then on, she devoted herself to the role of the doll. When she opened the English-Japanese dictionary, by chance, the word 'operation' was there, and the characters for surgery and manipulation jumped out at her.

I am participating in Tarahakani-sama's project.
This week's theme is 'Reading Surgery'.
I was wondering why I had a sense of déjà vu, and it was this. Ai is feeling frustrated because she couldn't become the lead... Do your best.
