The Countdown Pulse (Short-Short Story)
Recently, I haven't been feeling well, and after getting checked out, I was told I have bradycardia. They said it's not life-threatening for now and there's no medication for it, but I can't stop worrying.
That night, a strange man appeared at my bedside.
Greetings. I am the Grim Reaper. Your parents had a pulse savings account, so you can use it. It seems your parents had tachycardia, which allowed them to do that. Just say the word, and your pulse will return to normal—oh, I suppose you need a bit more explanation. We also handle bad luck or good luck savings, but your parents had no connection to such things and only requested pulse savings and blood pressure savings... No, I'm not advertising, and since the declining birthrate has made work slow, I'm just doing this as a trial. However, there is no interest, and the savings decrease every time we talk like this. The countdown has already begun.
Then I'll use it. That makes me healthy, right?
Yes. But since they didn't request life-span savings, a new countdown has started for that. Good luck.
