Love Pollen (Short Short)
Lord Hinoki. Humans are fed up with our pollen. I don't know how important they think they are, but they really should do something about those noses of theirs. Since humans originally evolved from monkeys, they ought to be able to manage that.
Lord Sugi. You are quite right. Recently, humans have been decreasing in number due to what they call a declining birthrate. Although they have male and female counterparts just like us, they cannot pollinate by riding the wind. On top of that, they have to engage in this thing called love and stick together firmly, which is cumbersome, and the female suffers for ten months until the result is born, so I believe there is also some jealousy toward our pollen.
Huh? Jealousy? As always, Lord Sugi, your ideas are so novel that it is quite amusing.
A honeybee, in the middle of delivering tulip pollen, arrived during the calm conversation between the masters of the forest.
Pardon the intrusion. I have a message from God: He was worried about whether to accelerate the human decline in birthrate, but as you all wished, He has decided to let them go extinct or self-destruct as they are. If that happens, it will be our world, won't it? Let us raise a toast to a world of 'long live pollen' for the prosperity of our species.
