Is a long paid article actually a good deal?

The other day, while I was wandering around the streets of note as usual, I came across a phrase that caught my attention.

What do you all think when you see this??

I felt a sense of discomfort for some reason.

I assume they are trying to make it seem like a good deal, but my honest reaction was, 'Is that really a good deal?'

Perhaps my sense of this is different from yours, but... even for residents of note who love reading, it takes a fair amount of time and concentration to read 20,000 characters, doesn't it?

To be frank, in this day and age, there is an endless supply of content you can enjoy for free.

In such a climate, I wondered if paying money and having your time taken away is really something to be happy about.

I'd like to introduce a famous quote by the French philosopher Pascal. Many of you may already know it, as it is quite famous...

It is said that he left these words at the end of a letter to a friend.

'I didn't have much time today, so I ended up writing a long letter.'

Do you understand what this means??

My interpretation is that Pascal doesn't mean "long = a good product that took time and effort to create," but rather,

"long = couldn't summarize it well"

I think that is the perception.

Of course, I also know that there are many fun and informative articles that don't make you feel their length even if they are long.

So, I want to make sure to say that what I want to convey is not"long = bad."

It's just that "long" doesn't necessarily mean "good or a good deal." That's what I'm talking about.

When I first started on note, I made a conscious effort to keep my writing between 500 and 1000 characters.

The reason for this was that I thought, "In a world full of fun content, people probably won't spend more than 5 minutes reading the writing of some random middle-aged guy."

So, rather than the length of the text, I focused on posting every day so that people would think, "If I check this guy's page around this time, there's always something posted every day."

Perhaps those of you reading my articles now, unless you are very early risers, should think, "If I wake up in the morning and open note, Genchon's article is usually up."

I've gotten off track, but...

My take is, 'If you want to make it feel like a good deal, keep the word count as is, but cut out the fluff and update the content.'

I think it's fine for people posting free articles to make them as long as they want, but if you're going to ask people for money, I feel like keeping it concise is better because it reduces the burden on the buyer and they'll appreciate it more.🤔

…Will writing something like this make people who write long paid articles hate me?😅

But the one I saw already had tens of thousands of characters in the original article, and then they added another 20,000 on top of that, and the initial free section was just rambling on about nothing much, making me feel like, 'Get to the point already.'

I got bored reading even the free part halfway through, but the free section kept going further down, and I honestly thought, 'What a total waste of time.'😞

I guess it might be fine if you're a huge fan and really love that person, though.☝️

As for me,I had no desire to read a scroll-like, overly long text from someone I don't know.🥺
