Work is better when it's fun
Good morning!
Today is a rare serious one? Or rather, it's a post declaring my determination!
Well, that might not be quite right, but at this moment as I start writing, I feel like I can write something serious, so I'll just go ahead and write it.
So, let's start the main part!
From next month, I've set up a system where I'll have almost no night shifts and can focus on daytime work.
The "20-year-old woman" I mentioned in this article will likely stay (as long as she isn't bullied by the other middle-aged women), so I think I'll be able to manage. By the way, I'm sure I haven't committed any sexual or power harassment. Probably😌
I'm currently doing handovers and making various adjustments, and although there are clearly more things to do and think about than before...
Work has started to become fun!!😆
I originally thought this job suited me, but now I feel that way even more.
I tried to think about why I feel like it's fun, even though it's definitely harder than before no matter how you look at it.
In a normal way of thinking, isn't it better for work to be easy?
But I find myself feeling definitely happier now that things have become more difficult.
The reason is...
Because I can decide for myself
I think this is the biggest factor.
In the past, there was a sense of emptiness where I'd think, 'It really seems like it would be better to do it this way, but even if I say so, it'll just end up being my own nonsense...', but now (starting next month), that won't be the case.
Of course, I don't think for a second that every one of my own decisions is 100% correct and that everything others say is wrong, but at least I no longer have to hold back from saying things like 'Maybe it's better to do it this way?' or 'Wouldn't this way work out better?'
Because the decision-making power lies with Genchon.
As I talk with various people (especially those who have newly joined), I strongly convey this:Since it's almost impossible to succeed on the first try when providing support, I will never blame anyone for the reason that 'it didn't go well.' So, if you think of something, please try it out.I strongly convey this.
I had conveyed this in the past as well, but despite that, there was an unpleasant trend or atmosphere where people would end up being blamed by their predecessors or having snide remarks made by other staff members, so unfortunately, it didn't take root as part of the company culture.
'Just try to get through the time you're on shift without getting yelled at.'
It's obvious without even thinking about it that you can't provide good support with that kind of approach or mindset, but it seems that didn't get through to the higher-ups, and until now, I've been feeling frustrated and uneasy while thinking, 'I'm sure we could do much better.'
However!!!
From now on, I will be the person in charge, so that frustration will disappear.
I will never pointlessly blame specific people or get angry in the group LINE.
Because I know that doing such things is a waste of time.
I've endured this for many years, but finally, a system is in place where I can gradually realize the [ideal form of a support provider] that I envision, and the idea that 'this is what support is supposed to be.'
A failure is only a failure if you stop there; if you continue until you succeed, it's not a failure, but a necessary process to reach success.
I will not value support providers who act like critics, just saying this and that without ever trying to step up to the plate themselves.
I will never let those who are working hard in earnest suffer a loss.
These three points are my fundamental philosophy, and I have always wanted to work at a company where I could feel that 'these three things are not special, they are just common sense.'
Finally, truly finally, I am able to make it a reality.
That said, as I move forward with my work, there will surely be mountains of things that don't go well.
However, while I could never accept failing because I did exactly what I was told, if something I did under my own responsibility doesn't go well, then no matter how you look at it, it is my responsibility.
Good things or bad things, the responsibility lies with me. This situation...
It gets me fired up!!!🔥🔥🔥
I suspect that from next month, my note articles will hardly be updated (though I think I'll still post short thoughts☝️), but there is no need to worry.
It is by no means because 'I've grown to hate writing articles on note' or anything like that.
Genchon is working hard.
Please keep that in mind and watch over me warmly.
Eventually, in the world of welfare,
'There's this incredibly flashy service manager in Nagano.
But the group home he manages provides amazing support.'
I will rise up until people say things like that about me😎
And eventually, I will become a BIG company president,
'I have never written articles about dirty jokes or sexual harassment.'
and start publishing articles writing about high-and-mighty management theories with a straight face.
If that happens, I want everyone who has watched me up until now to come and give me a grand roasting and teasing.
If I get comments roasting or teasing me, I
What are you talking about?
is what I would like to reply with😁
Even if I stop posting articles, I will never, ever forget the people who bought my and my family's birthday and celebration articles, kept me company on my silly posts, and sometimes gave me serious advice.
So...
Everyone, don't forget about Genchon either🥺🥺
As of the moment I'm writing this, I haven't decided whether I'll continue posting from tomorrow onwards, but...
For now, I'd like to end with my usual closing.
See you tomorrow😎👍
