What I Love About My Wife

I have absolutely no need to hide it, so I will say it loud and clear: I love my wife, and from the bottom of my heart, I want to say, "Thank you for everything."

There are a trillion things I love about her, but if I tried to list them all, it would be an absurd amount of text, so today I will announce the twothings I love the most.

1. She laughs a lot.

My wife really laughs a lot.

She laughs like a child who has entered a mode where everything seems funny.

Even before I became an old man, I often made silly puns.
I can't help but say them when they come to mind, so I say them immediately without worrying about the quality of the pun.

There have been many times when I've cracked a pun while talking to friends, and the room went so quiet I could hear the air conditioning.

Since they are puns of that level, they aren't funny at all, but my wife is the only one who laughs every time.
Sometimes she even laughs until she cries.

In fact, I often find myself retorting, "Hey, that pun wasn't even that funny!" because she really does laugh so much.
When we first started dating, I wondered, "Is she just being polite and laughing for my sake?" but now, as we approach our 10th wedding anniversary, she still says, "I love your puns, Genchon," so she must really be laughing.

Thank you for marrying me!
Even if the kids look at Dad with cold eyes,
as long as you are laughing, I don't care at all ✌️

2. She always says "thank you" whenever I do something for her.

I think this is very important.
I have lived alone before, and I have also lived with a friend.

So, I can manage general housework to some extent.

But everyone has their own way of doing things, right?

To give an easy example, I think every household has different preferred ways of hanging or folding clothes, cleaning, or seasoning food.

Since my wife has lived longer, she probably has her own preferences or ways of doing things, but even when I occasionally wash the dishes or fold the laundry, she never complains or nags, and she says a straightforward "Thank you!"

She even praises me sometimes.

Unlike me, this is my wife's first marriage, but I deeply feel that she really knows how to handle a man.



Well, "men in general" is too broad a generalization 😅

"How to handle Genchon" might be more accurate.

Given my personality, I have no resistance to doing chores themselves, but if I get nagged about how I did them, I'll probably get grumpy.

And then the number of times I help out will gradually decrease, until eventually, I'll stop doing them altogether.

Whether she knows this trait of mine or not, she really doesn't complain at all.

Perhaps she did complain in the early days of our marriage, but seeing me get grumpy, she might have made a quick U-turn and stopped saying anything.🤔

Either way is fine, but at any rate, right now, she doesn't complain or nag, but instead says, "Thank you!"

That is the second thing I love about my wife.

Now, today's conclusion is a bit of a nice story I learned recently?
It is.

Like my wife, once people reach a certain age, everyone, regardless of gender, worries about "wrinkles," right?

Especially laugh lines.

Do you know what those laugh lines, which are like the enemy of all women, are called in English?

smile lines and laugh lines are what they are called.

Literally translated, it means lines of a smile, doesn't it?

Isn't that wonderful?

If you think of laugh lines as proof that you've laughed a lot, they aren't something to hate, but rather something to cherish.

And I suspect my wife's laugh lines will only get deeper from here on out.

After all, she's going to be listening to super funny dad jokes from her husband for the rest of her life✌️
