What the Stars Taught Me

I started making a picture book because I want to read it to the baby currently in my belly.
First, here is the story for that picture book.
Making this picture book is one of the things I am currently trying as part of my

What the Stars Taught Me

Written by: me-me

A story from long before you were born.
Mom crossed the sea and visited an island.
It was an island where you could see a beautiful starry sky.

The sun set, and one by one,
the stars began to twinkle.
Before I knew it, the whole sky
was filled with the radiance of the stars.

I watched the starry sky for a long time.
And then, I suddenly thought of this.

“Just as I encounter one single sparkle among countless stars,
will I also be able to encounter something precious
someday?”

It felt like a miracle.
But for some reason, I felt sure that I would be able to meet it.
That is how gently the radiance of the stars

was pouring down over my whole body.

Time passed since then,
and Mom met Dad.
“Will we be able to make it together from now on?”

Mom, feeling unsure, looked up at the sky.
The stars were whispering quietly.

It will surely be okay.
No matter what happens, you can overcome it.

They looked like they were shining brightly.

Dad and Mom had been waiting for you
for a long time.

“I wish you would come soon.”
“You don't have to rush.”
“When will you come to us?”
“It's okay, you will surely come.”

We overcame nights like that, again and again.

The day we found out you were in my belly,
Dad was overjoyed.
He looked so happy, with his eyes wide open.
Mom was, of course, happy too.

You are the treasure called joy
that you gave us for the first time.

Just as we encounter one single sparkle among countless stars,
Dad and Mom met,
and you chose to become part of Dad and Mom's family.

It truly feels like a miracle,
a gift from heaven.

keep your radiance shining without ever fading.
That is all Mom wishes for.

Your radiance
will surely become a light that illuminates the world.

Let Dad and Mom
watch over that radiance from the closest place.

enjoy your time inside my tummy.

Days pass by as if they are taken for granted, but
the miracle of people meeting one another,
the miracle of a life being born,
I want to make sure I never forget them.

Perhaps I am creating picture books
to help me remember those feelings.
