Writing is Shaped by the Combination of Input and Output
When you think, "This person's writing is amazing,"
what is it that gives you that feeling?
Just by reading a single word, you are brilliantly and irresistibly drawn into their world. Scenes emerge clearly before your eyes, as if they were dancing. Such writing flows as smoothly as rippling waves.
The heart resonates in its depths, and emotion wells up.
I'm glad I could read this,
I'm glad I encountered this,
how is such writing shaped?
I believe it is the combination of
"input"and"output."
I think that is what it is.
First, regarding input.
Input. What to write.
The "what"is what this corresponds to.
Without input, you cannot write anything.
Having had a rare experience,
or having been born and raised in a unique environment, for example.
That will provide a powerful impact as one-of-a-kind content.
High content power is a weapon when it comes to writing.
Perhaps positioned opposite to that is the power to scoop up an ordinary daily life with a perspective and emotion overflowing with originality.
This can be distilled into the phrase often heard: "high resolution."
How finely can you grasp the small moments of every day and let your own emotions be stirred? That is also something that connects to the person's own "way of life."
Since a person's way of life is reflected in their writing itself, it seems that many authors with these characteristics have a loyal following.
And then, output.
Expression. How to depict it.
The part that corresponds to "how".
The part where writing ability is tested.
Vocabulary, emotional expression, and scene description.
Reader awareness. A unique worldview.
By reading books or attending schools, you can improve your writing skills to a certain extent. Furthermore, I believe that having a clear sense of purpose and intent allows you to project the worldview you want to depict more vividly.
Both are indispensable; "input" alone will not convey anything to others, and "output" alone will lack depth.
I believe that when both are multiplied at a high level, it results in writing that captivates people.
It is a "person" who is writing.
How do you scoop up what you have felt and depict it?
When we read what that person has written, we empathize with their way of life and their character, and we are moved. That is why we want to read it again.
Sometimes, I feel like writing about philosophical things like this. Just self-contained writing that drifts away from anything useful. When I write things like this, I get a sense of freedom, as if I'm being released from the things that bind me.
The end.
