26/50 A Perfect Day for Washing Curtains
Ah, it's hot...
The sun is really showing its power.
Once the rainy season ended, it suddenly got serious.
Nice, this is great!
The long-awaited
perfect, clear, sunny day.
For us as a married couple,
it is the perfect day to wash the curtains.
This is the 26th "thing I want to do" today.
We are finally at the halfway point.
There are less than 40 days left until my due date.
I wonder how many more we can accomplish.
But, well, at my own pace.
While cherishing each one,
let's keep enjoying this!

So,
today,"wash the curtains"
I couldn't let this long-awaited
laundry day go to waste.
The first day of the four-day weekend.
My husband is off work too.
A huge opportunity!
Wash all the curtains!!
As soon as I woke up, I started the washing machine.
To wash all the curtains in the house,
I ran it a total of three times.
Once the curtains were washed, I immediately
hung them on the curtain rods,
and left the windows open to let them dry.
Actually, this is a trick I learned when I was an elementary school teacher.
When I was a home economics specialist, I was responsible for washing all the curtains, so I would wash the massive amount of curtains collected from each classroom one after another.
(It takes about three full days in total. It's quite a lot of work...)
The idea is that if you hang the finished curtains back in their original places, they will dry on their own.
Putting this trick to use,
we hung up the curtains one after another as they were finished.
(My husband did. I couldn't do it, so I just watched.)
The weather was so good that,
to my genuine surprise,
they dried in the blink of an eye.
The sun is amazing!
Once all the curtains were washed,
the curtains fluttering in the breeze
had a faint scent of fabric softener.
It was hot, but the breeze was pleasant.
I was filled with a sense of accomplishment from having finished it all.
It felt like we had completed a major event.
The summer curtain event is now closed.
...
And, to my husband who worked non-stop since the morning,
and to the washing machine,
A huge, huge, huge thank you!!
For a nine-month pregnant woman,
it's quite hard,
so I could only help with
various small tasks...
It couldn't be helped... so
I hope he forgives me. Sorry.
By the way, half of the baby item pre-washing I mentioned wanting to do is finished. The cozy baby space is also complete.
I will report back to you again.
Thank you for reading today as well.
Please take good care of yourselves, and let's get through this hot summer together♪
