He came home frustrated because things didn't go as requested,
and I realized something was up when I saw a bandage
that wasn't there
in the morning.

he started talking,
saying he was frustrated because it was decided that people from a different group would go to the place he wanted to go for the field trip.

I understand you wanted to go with everyone,
but compromising on that is part of the learning experience.
You don't just go to the places you like.
I think it's about everyone making concessions for each other.
