🌸 From Bedridden to Recovery: The Peace of Mind Brought by the Long-Term Care Certification Notice (2026.06.18)

Today, something very happy happened.
The results of my wife's long-term care certification arrived, and she was certified as
"Support Level 2"
. 🌸
This will lighten the financial burden of
visiting rehabilitation and rental costs for nursing care equipment, which we had been paying for out of pocket until now.
Actually, on June 14 of last year,
my wife, whose physical strength had declined due to the side effects of chemotherapy, fell in the bathroom and fractured her 11th thoracic vertebra.

Because of that sudden event, she became bedridden, and our whole family spent every day in anxiety.
Even so, she continued rehabilitation and, supported by many people, recovered little by little.
Currently, although she uses a cane or a wheelchair, she has regained her energy.
On May 2 of this year,
she was hospitalized at Juntendo Hospital for acute renal failure, and at that time, the hospital staff recommended that we apply for long-term care insurance.
It took some time from application to certification, but the results finally arrived today.
Looking back, this past year felt truly long. Breast cancer treatment, a fracture, hospitalization, and rehabilitation.
Each time, I worried, "Will she be okay?" but my wife never gave up.
And today's certification notice
feels like we have gained important supporters
who will help us in our life from here on.
With this, the financial burden will be a little lighter, and
I feel I can support my wife's rehabilitation and daily life
with a more positive attitude than ever before.
Once again, I am grateful to everyone at the hospital, everyone involved in visiting rehabilitation, and everyone who has supported us.
From here on, we will continue to take it one step at a time, without rushing.
I want to increase our time spent smiling, working together with my wife. 🍀
