For lunch, we had a meal at a delicious tuna restaurant that recently opened in our neighborhood!

1️⃣ Today's rehabilitation and treatment & lunch!
Today is the 5th day of radiation therapy at Juntendo Hospital... 5 out of 16 sessions.
We used the round-trip train, the 100-yen bus, a wheelchair, and a cane to get to the hospital!
When I ride the 100-yen bus (*city bus) and the train with my wife in her wheelchair, I can feel the human kindness and affection that I couldn't feel before!
People give up their seats for us and treat us with such kindness!
I've learned that people in Tokyo are also naturally kind!
We had a consultation with Dr. Shikama in the Radiology Department. The doctor asks if we have any concerns, so we can talk about various worries for 10 minutes, which is very relaxing❗
It is hard for my wife who is undergoing treatment, but for me, the Radiology Department at Juntendo Hospital is the place where I feel the most peace! The nurses and staff are all wonderful in their interactions!
For lunch, we had the lunch menu [Set Meal] at our local OH! TORO KITCHEN!
Entering the restaurant in a wheelchair is also part of my wife's rehabilitation! Because when in a wheelchair, one tends to hesitate to enter a restaurant.
We also cleared the goal of going around the restaurant!
We have become able to enter without hesitation even in a wheelchair❗
It was voluminous, so a small portion of rice 🍚 was enough!

2️⃣ [My wife's breast cancer treatment status]
62 days since she was discharged from Juntendo Hospital after breast cancer (*Stage 3) surgery.
✔ ❶ Anticancer drugs, March to June 2025, stopped at the 7th session. The 8th session was canceled! (The reason is) on June 14th, she fell in the bathroom due to side effects, suffered a compression fracture of the 11th thoracic vertebra, and was temporarily bedridden.
✔ ❷ Breast cancer removal surgery (*left breast and lymph nodes),
August 29th [Completed]
🔴 ➌ Hormone therapy (*taking 1 pill), 30th day
Started on October 8th, ...will continue for 10 years...
🔴 ❹ Radiation therapy, 5th session
16 sessions will be held on weekdays from October 30th to November 21st (Fri).
3️⃣ 🔵 Benefits of hormone therapy!
Apparently, it increases appetite! Compared to when she was bedridden, my wife is really eating well!
4️⃣ Side effects of radiation therapy
Here is the information about side effects from the encouraging doctor in the Radiology Department.
・Discoloration of the skin where the radiation is applied
・The esophagus area may feel irritated, making it difficult for food to pass through. The doctor suggested that porridge might be good.

❶ Diagnosed with Stage 3 breast cancer, underwent anticancer drug treatment 7 times between March and June, but
After falling in the bath on June 14th (Sat), she became bedridden. Since then, she was cared for at a rehabilitation hospital for fractures (*Sanyukai Hospital), was discharged on August 15th (Fri), and home visiting rehabilitation began!
❷ Then, on Friday, August 29th, she had breast cancer surgery at Juntendo Hospital.
➌ And then, on Saturday, October 4th, at Kita-Akabane Orthopedic Surgery, the chest corset was removed, and the 'you're okay'👌 declaration was given!
❹ Regarding the breast cancer, hormone therapy (taking one pill) started on October 4th!

・Radiation therapy
*Total 16 sessions... October 30th (Thu) - November 21st (Fri)
*Duration: 15 minutes. Treatment time is basically the same.

・After that, visits to Juntendo Hospital will be on break for a while
