My 29-year-old son is off to Australia 🇦🇺 A month of spreading his wings as a teacher. And I am taking a new step forward, too.
Friday, July 24th
Today, my 29-year-old second son left for Australia 🇦🇺
This is his fourth year working as an elementary school English teacher.
He has been given a very valuable opportunity to
spend about a month training at Griffith International, located near the Gold Coast in Australia.
He will be staying with a host family while learning about local education, culture, and practical English.
Griffith International is a diverse educational institution that attracts international students from over 100 countries around the world.

I believe this environment, where he can learn while experiencing not just English but also diverse cultures and values, is a wonderful place for him to grow significantly as a teacher.
Just looking at the university's Facebook page, the spacious campus and bright atmosphere really came through, and it even got me excited.

As a parent, I feel a little lonely, but more than that, I am filled with the feeling of 'Go for it!'
And watching my son take on this challenge inspires me, even at 66 years old.
It doesn't have to be a big goal.
Learning something new, trying something small, taking that first step.
I realized I want to find such 'small goals' for myself as well.
Age doesn't matter.
The sight of someone taking on a challenge gives courage to those around them.
I am already looking forward to the day, one month from now, when I can hear all about how much my son has grown.
'Have a safe trip!'
And starting today, I will also begin taking my own new step forward. 🍀
