A Day of Small Mutual Support 🍀 ~Neighborhood Association Activities and a Heartwarming Encounter with a Foreign Staff Member~

Saturday, July 18th
This day was spent entirely on neighborhood association volunteer work, from morning until night.

The previous night, I slept for four hours from 9:30 PM to 1:30 AM,
then I woke up at 1:30 AM to clean the kitchen,
hang out the laundry,
write a NOTE article while taking a bath,
do one set of Duolingo (German),

and worked on neighborhood association tasks from 3:20 AM to 6:00 AM.

👉 Creating the attendance sheet for children's radio calisthenics,
👉 copying the previous year's receipts for streetlights,
👉 and handling accounting withdrawal tasks,
I made progress on the neighborhood association work.

From 6:30 AM, I went to the children's radio calisthenics with my wife.

For my wife, walking while using a cane and carrying the bag containing the attendance sheet and stamps is also important rehabilitation.

There were two children participating that day. Even though the number was small, I was happy to see a lively start to the summer vacation.

From 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM, I attended the neighborhood association board meeting with my wife. My wife also participates as a board member.

After the board meeting ended, I worked on creating the minutes at DOUTOR from 4:15 PM to 7:15 PM.

I record the board meeting audio on my smartphone, split it into approximately 11MB files using a free app, and transcribe it using Gemini.

In the past, this DOUTOR was also a place of memories where I devoted myself to studying for the nursing care staff training course. I was able to focus and make progress on my work this time as well.

I made them easy to understand.

In the evening, I bought two packs of vegetable tempura at 'Tendon Tenya Akabane Station Branch'.

The pickup number was '2038'.

The staff consisted of one Japanese leader and three young female staff members who appeared to be from Southeast Asia.

The staff member called out 'Customer number 2038' several times, but because the way the numbers were read was slightly different, I didn't realize it was me.

After watching for a while, I showed her the receipt number '2038', and she had an 'Ah!' expression and immediately handed me the items.

I think Japanese numbers and pronunciation are truly difficult for those who have come from overseas.

I also study German every day on Duolingo, and I feel the difficulty of speaking a foreign language every day.

That is precisely why, rather than thinking 'this is tough,' I felt 'they are doing their best.'

A society where we can understand and help each other little by little is surely a warm society.

It was a fulfilling day where I felt just that.
