Stephanie Kuo Named VP of Content at PRX to Help Lead Podcast and Public Radio Broadcast Content Strategy
Nonprofit public media organization PRX — one of today’s top public radio distributors and podcast publishers — is pleased to have named Stephanie Kuo VP of Content, helping to lead both podcast and radio broadcast content strategy. Kuo has served in key content development and audio training roles at PRX since 2018.
As VP of Content, Kuo will oversee new acquisition and ongoing sustainability of PRX’s award-winning portfolio of audio programming spanning resonant storytelling, consequential journalism, and entertainment. Kuo will also manage relationships with PRX’s production partners — including independent producers, organizations and institutions, and public media stations across the U.S. — to ensure seamless content delivery to audiences everywhere.
“I’ve had the privilege of growing at PRX as the organization evolves and expands to meet the dynamic content world we live in today,” Kuo said. “It’s been my dream to be in a position to help instill lasting impact and innovation in public media and audio, and I’m honored to now help fortify lasting partnerships and to deliver compelling content fueled by the creativity our production partners are known for.”
Previously, Kuo served as Director of Training/Content Development at PRX, helping to spearhead initiatives such as the Google Podcasts creator program global podcast accelerator, the PRX Journalism Podcast Accelerator for local news organizations, and recently the PRX Podcast Creator Summit, a series of community-oriented audio events taking place in Washington, D.C. and Atlanta in 2024.
Prior to PRX, Kuo served as a reporter for KERA in Texas — covering pressing issues such as poverty, homelessness, and urban development — and served as producer and project coordinator for the Texas Station Collaborative, a consortium of the largest public radio stations in the state. Additionally, Kuo has served as a news producer at WFUV in New York, and co-created a James Beard-nominated podcast at the intersection of food, gender, race, and class.
PRX recently announced public radio partnerships with KCRW’s Left, Right, and Center, WUNC’s Embodied, The Ezra Klein Show from The New York Times, No Small Endeavor, and more, while also helping to bring listeners beloved radio shows such as This American Life, Snap Judgment, Reveal, Latino USA, The Moth Radio Hour, and The World. PRX has also recently forged podcast partnerships with Condé Nast — including The New Yorker, Vanity Fair, and WIRED — Quanta Magazine, The Paris Review, and beyond.
