“Reveal” Wins Two National Edward R. Murrow Awards

The Edward R. Murrow Awards announced Reveal’s “40 Acres and a Lie” public radio and podcast series as winner in the national awards.
Released in June 2024, “40 Acres and a Lie” is an investigation into a federal government land program after the U.S. Civil War and the resulting wealth gap that remains today. The series represents a collaboration with the Center for Public Integrity and Mother Jones, distributed to public radio and on-demand to podcast listeners everywhere by PRX.
“40 Acres and a Lie” ”aired in June 2024. It was also a Pulitzer Prize finalist in the explanatory reporting category and the winner of the 2024 National Magazine Award for podcasting:
The Edward R. Murrow Awards also selected Reveal’s April 6, 2024, episode, “Escaping Putin’s War Machine,” as a national winner for feature reporting. The investigation was a collaboration with the Associated Press.
“Escaping Putin’s War Machine” details the dramatic journey of one Russian military officer who deserted the army and fled Russia, guided by an antiwar group that has helped thousands of people evade military service or desert:
