It took us 2 months to adopt cursor and 1 day to adopt Augmentcode

I’m a Senior Engineer, currently working at an AI startup in Bank, London. Here is a photo of the view from the office.

Our team recently went through a big shift in our development tools, here’s what we experienced.

It took us 2 months to start using cursor, before this we were using GitHub actions chat mode. The reason it took so long to adopt was due to:

1. It took a while to understand what was actually happening with our data for data privacy reasons, this was the main reason.
2. Another reason was due to a half/half split of jet-brains to vscode users. Also the fact that it isn’t an integration tool is a bit nuts.

1. The whole team was wanting to use it due to the fact it is an integration with their own current setup and tools.
2. The DX is insane not clunky feeling, even though it’s slower you feel a lot more in control.
