Hello,
I embedded font in my Presentation and it displays correctly for some people who are using Windows as operating system, but not for all of them, and it doesn't work for Mac users at all. I'm trying to understand why this is happening and is there anything I can do about it?
Is there any significant difference between PowerPoint for Windows vs Mac that would cause this issue?

I'm working with another user (on Reddit in this case) with a similar-sounding problem.
In his case, it's a free font that Windows File Explorer recognizes as having Installable embedding, but if you use the font, save with PPT set to embed all characters, then uninstall the font from the computer, you don't get the correct font when you open the file again. The file itself grows enough to suggest that the font's embedded, but PPT won't use it.
But also in Win File Explorer (going back to when the font's installed), there are a lot of missing attributes: category and several others are missing, leading me to wonder if PPT is refusing to use the embedded font (which would also mean installing it permanently in this case) out of an abundance of caution.
You might want to check the font attributes for your font, see if this rings any bells.
I'm a PowerPoint template creator, but not a typographer. I've witnessed many examples of similar problems, but don't know the cause.
Too many font creators make fonts using their preferred OS and don't enough testing in a variety of programs and operating systems. The person creating the font should be testing on PowerPoint for Windows and Mac, so they can see when they solved the issue.
Ah so it might be font issue rather than PPT itself?
Do you have ideas what specifically about font can be causing this issue?
Font I'm using for this document is custom, and was created specifically for my client (big, global company) - so potentially we can still fix it.

This is an on-going problem in PowerPoint Windows vs Mac. My experience is that fonts from reputable foundries work more reliably. Free fonts, or home-made typefaces, including Google fonts, have many more problems.
