How to set up an Automatic email reply to EVERY email that comes in.

I am trying to set up an auto response to a shared inbox in outlook. Not an Out of office reply, but a response that will go out to EVERY email that comes in. "We aim to respond to emails within 1-business day, please check out the links below....." etc. I have tried using a rule to set it up, but it shows the full link address rather than just the hyperlink text, and it only sends it to someone once, so If Tom emails on Monday, and then sends another email on Wednesday, he only gets the auto-response one time. The Automatic Reply setup does not work, because it only sends it out one time also. I had this set up before and it worked, but when I went in to update the email for 2024, it no longer works the same, I am not sure if there was an update or what. If I turn on the automatic reply option, then it works, BUT it send the AUto reply email AND the email from the rule I set up. So again, I need to figure out how to set this up without the Auto Reply option. I tried the Rule, but it does not work properly either. please Help!

Did something change? Because it used to work with a rule. With these instructions below.

The issue I am having now with this is when I have a link in the email, it comes across at the full address, rather than just a link.

This is what it looked like before, and it worked:

Thank you for your message. We aim to respond to emails promptly, so please expect a response from our team within one business day.

    Dear Nicole Burnett,

    Thank you for your reply.

If it worked on your Outlook, have you checked if you have updated your Outlook? If not, please try it Install Office updates - Microsoft Support.

If you are still not able to achieve it, and you have a Microsoft 365 business subscription, we suggest you create a support ticket so the resource there would have permission to work with you remotely.

Here are the steps for your reference:

    1. Go to the admin center at https://admin.microsoft.com. If you get a message that says you don't have permission to access this page or perform this action, you aren't an admin. For more information, see Who has admin permissions in my business.
    2. On the bottom right side of the page, select Help & support.
    3. Type a question or keyword into the text box. If you get a drop-down list, select the one closest to your question, or continue typing your question, then press Enter.
    4. If the results don't help, at the bottom, select Contact Support.
    5. Enter a description of your issue, confirm your contact number and email address, select your preferred contact method, and then select Contact Me. The expected wait time is indicated in the Contact support pane.

Thank you for your time and hope this is helpful.

    Regards,

    Microsoft Community

    Dear Nicole Burnett,

Thank you for visiting Microsoft Community, we are glad to assist you here.

Based on your description, we understand you are seeking a way to set an automatic reply that will be sent if the same user sends the email again on a different day.

We did some tests and searches and it seems it is not feasible in Outlook. We are sorry for the inconvenience it may cause.

At this point, your understanding is highly appreciated, and you can also raise your feedback to our product team from How do I give feedback on Microsoft 365? - Microsoft Support

Or consider with VBA (programming) Office VBA support and feedback | Microsoft Learn to see if there is a script to achieve that.

Thank you for your time and hope this is helpful.

    Regards,

    Microsoft Community
