1、Incident /'ɪnsɪd(ə)nt/

Incident说小事时就是日常不重要的事，说大事时多指在政冶军事外交上可能导致争端或战争的事件（隐含的意思：因为这个事，会引发造成了某种附带的后果）所以incident有个词义“附带的”。

Incident可以指任何大事或小事，好的或坏的，有意的或无意的。抢劫银行，有趣或有争议的情况，名人之间的争吵等等，都可以被描述为incident。

Incident can refer to any event big or small, good or bad, intentional or unintentional. A bank robbery, a funny or controversial situation, an argument between celebrities, etc. all can be described as incidents.

如果一个喝醉酒的司机开车撞到一群人，那是一场accident(他不是故意这样做的；这是由酒精和偶然性造成的)。它也可以被描述为一个incident(一个发生在大街上大约凌晨2:30的incident)。

If a drunk driver runs his car into a group of people, that is an accident (he did not intend to do it; it was caused by alcohol and chance). It could also be described as an incident(The incident occurred).

如果三个人在酒吧斗殴后被捕，那就是incident(但不是accident，因为斗殴并非偶然；他们是故意战斗的)。

If three people were arrested after fighting in a bar, that is an incident(but not an accident because the fight was not by chance; they intended to fight).

2、Accident /'æksɪdənt/

Accident则是由错误或偶然引起的一件坏事。Accident往往是无意的，它们通常会导致一些损害或伤害。车祸是accident的一个例子。如果工厂的一些设备发生故障，工人受伤，这也是一种accident。

另外，Accident不用于政冶事件。

An accident is a bad event caused by error or by chance. Accidents are always unintentional, and they usually result in some damage or injury.

一般重大型伤害性事故用accident，还有些非常小的accident的例子，比方说当你踩到别人的脚或把咖啡洒到别人身上。这些事故是你不想做，也并没有打算做的。

例句：His reckless driving accounted for the accident.

他开车鲁莽，引起了这场事故。

事件”含义区别

从构词上来说，accident和incident都有“突然”的意思在里面，在这一点上accident主要指突发的事件“事故”大事（比如：出了车祸）而incident指突然的事情“插曲”日常小事（比如：突然遇到了朋友.）

情感色彩区别

Accident如果前面没有happy，lucky这类的修饰词，多指不幸的事，而且多是涉及人命的大事。而incident和event不一定，有可能坏事，也可能是好事。

二者区别总结

incident的范围较广，包含accident。而accident则特指由于错误或偶然发生的事故。

All accidents can ALSO be described as incidents but NOT all incidents are accidents.

Incident表示更一般的，而accident则更具体。

Incident is more general, and accident is more specific.

所有的accident也可以被描述为incident，但不是所有的incident都是accident。

3、Event /əˈvɛnt/

Event虽然也可用于日常小事，但是整个单词主要指重要的事，如国家的，历史的，国际的或社会的大事件，给人一种“重要的”“重大的”的感觉（隐含的意思：这是件重要的事，有备而来的事），所以单词有词义“项目”。

Event can be used for everyday small things, and the whole word mainly refers to important things, such as national, historical, international or social events,giving people something that happens at a given place and time.

Also, a phenomenon located at a single point in space-time; the fundamental observational entity in relativity theory.

今日总结

出车祸和事故一般用accident，非主观性的突发性的，多是不好的事。出现政治上、国际上的争端用incident因为会附带的产生一些事的感觉。日常小事用incident。日常大事和重要的事用event。
