Previously, a basic scalable GitLab architecture was created using Terraform and Ansible. Now, to create globally synchronized read - only copies of GitLab instances, the Geo feature will be utilized. Geo is part of the GitLab enterprise license, offering event - based synchronization and high - availability failover.

1.1 Technical Requirements

• GitLab Trial License : Obtain a trial license from here . Save the license received via email in the Chapter22/geo - setup/deploy/files directory in the Gitlab.gitlab - license file.
