What is the Datadog Claude connector?

The Datadog Claude connector is a permission-controlled bridge to your Datadog organization. It uses OAuth and respects Datadog’s role-based permissions. How do I add the Datadog connector?

1. In Claude, open the toolbox in the bottom-left, click Customize, then Connectors.

• Datadog API rate limits. Heavy use can hit Datadog’s per-minute API ceiling. Pace longer audits across batches.
• Per-query log volume. A single query usually returns 1000-5000 log entries. For broader sweeps, batch by service or time range.
• Metric retention tiers. Long-term metric retention varies by Datadog plan. Older data may not be available at full resolution.

Is the Datadog connector safe?

• For paid Claude plans, Datadog data accessed via the connector is not used to train models and is not retained beyond the request.
• Logs may contain user PII, request payloads, or sensitive customer data. Confirm your Datadog log scrubbing is on; review Anthropic privacy posture if logs include payment or health data.
