Sonnar T* FE 55mm F1.8 ZAを今年1月に購入しメリハリのある綺麗な画に満足していましたが、a7R4の購入に伴い更に上位のレンズの存在に魅かれ購入に至りました。先ずは取り回しの違いですがこれまで281gとお散歩レンズとして気軽に持ち歩いていましたが、2470GMと同じような重さの778g。
しかし、その写りはコレがPlanarなのかという程、シャープでありながらも柔らかく立体感のある画を写し出してくれる素晴らしいレンズでした。ある意味SONYロゴを着けていながらも異色のレンズだと感じます。
85mmの窮屈感は構図を選びシャッターを押し切る事を躊躇する場面もありましたが、50mmという標準画角はシャッター・チャンスを迷いません。
そして、ボケの描写は滑らかでシャープでありながらボケを犠牲にしていない事。絞り開放からフレーム全域でシャープな写りで、玉ボケに関しては周辺域でもレモン型にならずレンズ性能のすばらしさを感じます。
Carl Zeiss Planar T* 1.4/50 の継承を受け継いでいるのか、フォーカスポイントはセンター寄りで、やや周辺減光、色収差があるもののステップごとに絞ってゆくことで、同じ構図でも趣の感じる画を弾き出してくれます。
シャープさと柔らかさのバランスが見事なレンズであり、a7R4とのバランスも良く甚く気に入りました。
