    初めて読む作家さんの作品集。

    「月まで三キロ」「星六花」←〝ほしりっか〟と読むのか？　「アンモナイトの探し方」「天王寺ハイエイタス」「エイリアンの食堂」「山を刻む」の短篇六作品と、掌篇「新参者の富士」を収めた一冊です。

    どの作品も、登場人物に注ぐ著者の眼差しが柔らかく、慈しみに満ちていて、温かものが胸に広がる読み味でした。

    とりわけ気に入ったのは、「エイリアンの食堂」。

    ふたりぼっちで生きている父親と小学生の娘の世界に、当初は怪しげな人物として入り込んできた女性が、親子の寂しい世界に灯る星のようになっていくところ。じんと沁みるものがありました。

    また、この中のある人物が口にする言葉で、《世界で一番小さなものに目を凝らすと、そこには世界で一番大きなものが見える。》p.253　いうのが、なんやいい言葉やないかあ思って、ぐっと来ましたわ。

    とてもナイスな読み心地の作品集だったので、著者の次の短編集でいいんかな、『八月の銀の雪』（新潮文庫）に行きます。楽しみです。

    それと、文庫本の表紙カバーに描かれた草野 碧さんのイラストが素敵ですね。こちらも気に入りました。

    人生が上手く行ってない人を描くことが多い作者が、この作品の表題「月まで３キロ」ではとうとう自殺しようとしている人を描いています。そこまで行くと少しやりすぎ感があって、共感しにくくなりましたが、それ以外の短編は理科系の知識のちりばめ方もおとなしく、色恋未満の思いのようなものが描かれていて心が少しほっこりする作品が多かったです。
